Integrated utilization of arsenic-containing non-ferrous metals resources
Integrated utilization of arsenic-containing non-ferrous metals resources
The first process of arsenic fixation as scorodite from waste acid under atmospheric pressure was developed and established in China, with a daily capacity of 600m3 waste acid. In 2020, the treatment cost per ton of arsenic was saved by more than 35% compared with the previous method (arsenic precipitation by sulfide followed by filter cake disposal by an external company). After arsenic fixation, the arsenic concentration in solution decreased from 10-20g/L to less than0.5mg/L; The arsenic content of TCLP test onsolid arsenic residue was as low as 0.1-0.5mg/L, which was significantly lower than the landfill limit of 1.2mg/L, and other specifications also met the national landfill limits (Standards for Pollution Control of Hazardous Waste Landfills GB18598-2019). These technologies brought in remarkable economy and environmental benefits. Therefore, it was ratedthe "international leading" technology by China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association in 2020. As for the high arsenic content in Serbia copper concentrate, a process optimization onarsenic fixation as scorodite under atmospheric pressure is carried out, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. The glass process of arsenic fixation was developed for arsenic-containing materials. The arsenic content in arsenic fixation residue could reach 20%, and the arsenic content in solution by TCLPtest complied with the Standards for Pollution Control of Hazardous Waste Landfills GB18598-2019. This project has led to five patents applied.
