Directed by the engineering management mode of "five rings united into one circle", a "clean technology integrating beneficiation and extractive metallurgy to treat complex and refractory copper-cobalt concentrate" was successfully developed. This technologyintegratedthe processes of flotation, hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy and has achievedan efficient recovery of the metals. In 2020, the project has produced over 110,000 tons of copper and over 1,400 tons of by-product cobalt, with an increase of profits and taxes exceeding 1billion Chinese yuan. The project has led to 11 journalpapers and 10 patents in application. The main technical and economic indicatorswere superiortothose of the domestic and foreign competitors. Therefore, this technology won the first prize issued by China Nonferrous Metals Association in 2020.
