Refractory oxidized copper-bearing gold ores, if treated in a conventional cyanidation process can cause problems, such as high content of cyanidablecopper and high consumption of sodium cyanide. To sort out the problems, it has developed technologies including inhibitive copper leaching in ammonia-cyanide medium, in-situ copper removal in pulp, selective copper removal in pulp, high-efficiency copper desorption from copper-enriched carbon and reutilization of copper-offloadedbarren solution. It also has established the world's first operation line adopting ammonia-cyanide combination leachingwith a daily processing throughput of 2000 tons gold ore and an annual output of more than 2,500kg gold. The annual profitwas increased by 580 million Chinese yuan. The technology has reached an international advanced level, resulting in 10 published papers and 3 authorized patents. In 2015, it won the first prize of science and technology award issued by China Gold Association.
