COMMUS copper ore suffers from uneven dissemination size of target minerals, large slime content and low recovery of oxide copper ore. To tackle these problems, a sequential flotation scheme targeting sulfide, free-milling oxide, and then refractory oxide recovery process was proposed and developed. The proposed scheme was put into production in May 2017 and achieved production standards in December 2017. By the end of 2019, the plant has a total of 64,000 tons copper annual production capacity with a recovery as high as 83% and can deliver an annual revenue of $371 million.
