The traditional depressants for Cu-Pb separation, such as K2Cr2O7 and NaCN, are notorious for their poison. ZJ201, a new environment-friendly galena depressant, was designed and synthesized to tackle the problem of poison. This reagent was put into industrial application for Cu-Pb separation in Zijin Urat Rear Banner Mining Co. Ltd. and Yuanyang Huaxi gold Co., Ltd. In Zijin Urat Rear Banner Mining Co. Ltd, a copper recovery of more than 93% with a Cu grade of over 28% in copper concentrate could be achieved, generating an annual benefit of about 20 million Yuan. In Yuanyang Huaxi gold Co., Ltd, a copper concentrate of 23.4% Cu and 100.3 g/t Au could be obtained at a copper recovery rate of 70.4% after applying ZJ201 in Cu-Pb separation operation, increasing a production worth of about 87 Yuan per ton processed ore.
