Quantitative study on occurrence of associated gold and silver in a Cu-Mo deposit
A Cu-Mo deposit has low silver and gold head grade of 1.40 g/t and 0.12 g/t, respectively. To evaluate on-site gold (silver) recovery,quantitative study on bulk mineralogy of Cu and Mo and occurrence of Au and Ag were carried out.The results show that,at a grinding fineness of 70% passing 75µm, the theoretical recovery of gold and silver is 71% and 68%, respectively. The recovery of associated gold and silver in operation was close to 71% and slightly lower than 62%, respectively, indicating that there is still potential for silver recoveryimprovement. Furthermore, this demonstrates that mineralogical investigation results could be used as criteria for evaluating and optimizing production performance.
